Welcome to GPE-North! The Grand Prix Equine - North Division serves the horses of Litchfield, Hartford, and Tolland counties of Connecticut as well as parts of Massachusetts. In 2020, Werner Equine merged with Grand Prix Equine and welcomed Dr. Caitlin Rothacker to the team. Read more about Dr. Werner & Dr. Rothacker on the Team page. Grand Prix Equine's staff provides veterinary care and administrative support for previous Werner Equine clientele.

We are pleased to announce that Werner Equine has merged with Grand Prix Equine to continue to provide exceptional care for your horses.
The doctors and staff at Grand Prix Equine have been close friends of ours for years. One of the few remaining non-corporate owned, equine-only practices in our region – GPE shares our values and goals about providing excellent patient care and client service. From the performance horse to a best friend, Grand Prix Equine wants the best of care and continuity for your horse during this transition.
Dr. Werner will work as a consulting doctor with the experienced veterinary Grand Prix team that includes Dr. Caitlin Rothacker, Dr. Mark Baus, Dr. Johanna Kremberg, and Dr. Luvie Abell. He will work most directly with Dr. Rothacker and technician, Melissa Finn, during the transition period and be available after the transition as a regular consultant within the practice. Dr. Rothacker lives conveniently in Granby, CT. All medical records are available to the staff at Grand Prix Equine and they are available for equine emergencies 24/7/365.
