Lucky

am nominating Lucky, a school horse who has played an incredibly important role in my return to riding. After more than 20 years away from riding and competing, I re-entered the saddle six months ago feeling nervous and unsure. Lucky was the first horse I rode during this reemergence, and he has been instrumental in rebuilding my confidence.

Lucky is patient, forgiving, and has a wonderful sense of humor. He consistently makes me feel safe while allowing me to re-learn the fundamentals of riding at my own pace. He is big, beautiful, and steady, and he gives his riders the confidence to try again, even after mistakes. Because of Lucky, I have been able to reconnect with a passion I truly love. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of working with him and for the role he plays in supporting riders like me every day.
