School Horse Initiative

We are accepting nominations for our annual school horse contest! Grand Prix Equine has founded National School Horse Day to honor horses in riding programs whose purpose is to develop and perfect a rider’s skill set. School horses are the foundation of our industry, and these special animals have the kindest hearts and take excellent care of their riders under the expertise of a trainer.

In 2020, many riding programs were shut down during Covid, and many of our riding instructors and lesson programs were struggling due to the lost revenue. During that time, we started this contest to lend financial support to help care for many beloved lesson horses. The program was so greatly appreciated that we decided to continue it each year.

This year, we are gifting financial support to five notable school horses or ponies and are seeking nominations from you. We will provide $500 for each horse as a small token of our appreciation. The winners will be chosen at random and announced on Facebook Live on 3/17/2025 around 10am. You can find us on Facebook here.

Contest Rules:

Horses nominated must be currently active in a school horse program.
All of the information below is required for a nomination to be accepted.
Only one horse per owner/riding program will be accepted. If multiple horses are nominated from the same program, we will enter the one with the most nominations or the one that was entered first.
Nominations will be accepted until 3/15/25.
Winners will be chosen randomly on 3/17/25 and owners will be contacted to arrange prize distribution.
