Ozzie
Fox Wood Farm

Ozzie the definition of a saint. My mom bought him almost 10 years ago for my youngest sister. When she outgrew him he became the backbone of our lesson program. Ozzie is one of the kindest and most forgiving ponies I’ve ever met. It doesn’t matter if it is a tiny 5 year old or 90, yes, last summer Ozzie taught a lesson to a 90 year old woman. He will take care of any rider, every step of the way. He has taught over 30 kids how to canter. Ozzie’s favorite job is what we call “light to light”. My mom calls it that because he goes “light to light” from one end of the ring to the other where my mom clucks and sends him off from one side of the ring to the other allowing new riders to focus on themselves and posting, they don’t even have to steer! Then at the end of the “light” he goes back to the walk on his own. The littles love it because they feel like they are riding on their own, which they are…. Thanks to Ozzie. We are trying to expand our program and we have mostly Ozzie to thank for that. We really could never repay him for all he has done for us and all he has done for these kids. He is 21 this year and we hope to have many more memories with sweet Ozzie. We know there will never be another Ozzie. We truly enjoy every moment with him.
